ESXi 4.1 - Add NFS Storage for Dummies

The configuration should similar to the previous ESX/i (4.0) but I don’t know why some of us having touble to configure it. Never mind, check this out.

Notes:

  • By default, nfsclient module will be loaded automatically when the system boot up,
  • By default ESXi already have VM Kernel for ESXi management and you can use this VM Kernel for your IP Storage connection (iSCSI & NFS) too.
  • Make sure you get vmkping result from target NFS server before yo mount any NFS storage. Read more
