VMware - JumpStart Training

October 25th, 2010 | Category: Nox

After long absence, tomorrow I’ll have to conduct another VMware JumpStart training for my three different customers. It’s been almost a year since my last training and I’m not so sure whether I can give a speak and last for two days or not tomorrow. The last time I did was hell and I had some infection in my throat after that. Yeh.. Probably I can forget a bit about project even though it’s just for two days. No need to think about the design, strategy, complaint and bla bla bla. Or perhaps, this is the right time for me to evaluate what and how I did it last year. No matter what, I still believe by sharing my knowledge and experience with others it’s still a good thing to do.

p/s : What! already 12:41 am and I still didn’t go through the modules yet!

CISCO UCS + vSphere

October 25th, 2010 | Category: Nox

Well this is a good news for my Team indeed. This morning my Boss asked me to accompany him and having lunch together with a guy from Cisco. Initially I thought this could be another technical dicussion or perhaps some partner meet up between my Boss and Cisco. Who knows suddenly my Boss informed me that we are going to implement Cisco UCS very soon for one of our customer in public sector. It’s like a dream come true actually. Before this, I can ONLY envision what the UCS really all about. I never know how well it’s going to work with vSphere and how intricate the solution is. Nevertheless, I’m looking forward to this opportunity and can’t wait to lead my team and start with the implementation ASAP regardless whether it’s B or C series.

p/s : Don’t worry. I don’t care if my team is not the first team to implement this in M’sia :)

Good bye …

October 24th, 2010 | Category: Nox

I believe some of my colleague will agree with me that’s today is the sad day for all of us in xxx. This is because one of our colleague finally decided to leave us and looking forward for new challenge with another company. I don’t know why but my feeling telling me that I’m going to miss this guy a lot. I still remember he is the one who helped me during 3 months project for one of my customer in KL even though he was assigned last time to do more for Pre-Sales job. We spent most of the time after mid night at customer site for the migration, having dinner at one Mamak restaurant and went back home in the morning for almost a month till the project finished.

What ever the reason is, just want to say “thank you and good luck”.

p/s : I’m going to miss you dude..

    To be the first..

    October 20th, 2010 | Category: Nox

Recently, while I’m registering for VMware event here, I saw one of VMware competitor with their funniest tags line ever :

    • We are the first to do this,
    • We are the first sold this VMware,
    • We are the first bla..bla..bla..

Although from their business perspective this is normal nowadays but to me, what the heck! I don’t say this is not right and they cannot do this. They have their right to use what ever strategy which they think is good! However, I would rather not to be the first if the solution can be done by everyone. It’s like Ah Seng VS Raju story :-

    • Raju : “I’m the first one who upgraded his car engine from N/A to standard VTEC”
    • Ah Seng : “Wow nice, but I also upgraded my engine recently from N/A to Bolt-on Twin Turbo plus NOS”

Perhaps I can also suggest to my Boss with below tags as well :

    • We are the first to implement this for this customer A,
    • We are the first implemented DRC accross states (not country),
    • We are the first well known partner which is most helpful in the country,
    • The first partner implement solution A + Solution B
