Please make sure you upgrade your View infrastructure to View 5.0 first prior to v5 upgrade.

Upgrading to ESXi 5.0 - Failed due to vusb device

September 28th, 2011 | Category: vSphere

I’ve just read the KB and it may be useful for those who want to upgrade their ESXi to 5.0 version via VUM. At the same time this can be a perfect reference for me before upgrading any of my customer host which is having vusb device. Though this will ONLY cause your upgrade fail, we can save few hour for troubleshooting by disabling first virtual usb ethernet device before we perform the upgrade.
