Fusion 4 on Macbook Air
Recently, I’ve just bought a Macbok Air for Xcode purposes and the first thing came into my mind was, how I can continue doing my work without need to rely anymore on my company’s laptop which running Windows 7 or Linux. To be surprised, most of the applications in Windows 7 (Office, Lync, Outlook) so far can be ran successfully in OS X Lion. So what about other applications which I cannot run it on this gem?. Without doubt VMware Fusion is my best option for this and this is why now I am officially become one of Fusion’s user around the world.
So, my first impression on Fusion is, it’s much easier to use compare to VMware Workstation. To install it, you just need to drag and drop Fusion.dmg to application folder and that’s it. You can create your first VM after that. Everything working flawlessly especially for the network (NAT), sound, USB and etc. But in terms of performance of the VM, even though it’s running on my SSD drive, I didn’t notice any significant improvement yet or it won’t at all. Now still waiting for 365 days evaluation License for vExpert and hopefully I can have it sooner so that I won’t use Fusion just for 30 days
